About SCCDS

More than a Century of Helping Dentists in their Practices

For more than 125 years, the Santa Clara County Dental Society has been helping local dentists stay sharp with ongoing education and resources. We also provide community services and referrals to the public.

Please note: the SCCDS does not provide dental services, nor is it a referral service for pro-bono care. If you need dental care and do not have dental insurance, please view our list of dental clinics. Many of these offer pricing on a sliding scale.

Our Mission

The mission of the Santa Clara County Dental Society is to assist our member dentists with their practice needs and to improve the oral health of our community.

Our Vision

The vision of the Santa Clara County Dental Society is to be the leader in providing innovative valuable services to our dentist members and in working to improve the oral health of the community we serve.

Our History

The Santa Clara County Dental Society was founded in 1889 by eight visionary dentists who lived and worked in Santa Clara Valley. Today, over 130 years later, our organization has grown to more than 1,800 dental professionals who are committed to education, quality care, and their communities.

In the Community

Our members and staff work hard to promote oral health in the community through various activities each year. These events help people understand the importance of good oral hygiene and encourage regular dental visits. Members attend local health fairs and do dental screenings at schools. We partner with government and charity organizations to offer these important services.

Through education, outreach, and volunteer programs, our members help improve people’s oral and overall health. This way, dentists make a difference both inside and outside the office. Our mission is to support dentists as they serve the community.

Organizations with whom we’re currently connected include:

Beyond the Community

Many of our member dentists also volunteer beyond their local areas. Programs like CDA Cares enable our dentists to travel throughout the state, providing help to communities in need. Additionally, many of our dentists participate in charitable dental missions worldwide, visiting under-served towns and cities in Africa, South America, and Central America.
