SCCDS Annual Picnic Recap

This past Sunday, SCCDS members and their families gathered for one of our most cherished traditions, the SCCDS Annual Picnic. This year’s jungle-themed celebration was a day of vibrant adventure filled with laughter, community, and fun for all ages.

From colorful face painting and intricate henna art to kid-friendly games and activities, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Live music provided the perfect soundtrack as members connected with colleagues, friends, and families.

Of course, no SCCDS picnic would be complete without an incredible potluck lunch. The food was a highlight of the day, with members sharing a wide variety of delicious dishes. Among the crowd favorites were the famous Banh Mi sandwiches from Duc Huong restaurant, generously brought by Dr. Vu Tran. Guests were also treated to freshly grilled kebabs prepared on-site by Drs. Kayhan Mashouf and Shannon Hayashibara.

We extend our sincere thanks to our volunteer, Nidhi Shetty, for her friendly and energetic support. We are also happy to congratulate Nidhi on her acceptance to the University of the Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry, and wish her the best of luck in her studies!

We would also like to recognize and thank the SCCDS Membership Committee, led by Co-Chairs Drs. Vu Tran and Jessica Sin for their outstanding work planning and executing this year’s picnic. Their creativity, organization, and commitment brought the jungle theme to life and made the event a tremendous success. Special thanks to Drs. Mamta Desai, Scott Morgan, Kayhan Mashouf, and Cliff Marks for assisting with setup and breakdown!

Throughout the afternoon, attendees had the opportunity to earn additional raffle tickets by participating in jungle-themed games like the Sticker Safari Scavenger Hunt and Feed the Monkey Ball Toss. The fun culminated with the raffle drawing, featuring prizes for all ages, including an electric scooter, giant Kerplunk game, gift cards to TopGolf, Fogo de Chao and more!

Congratulations to our lucky raffle winners!

Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed to the potluck, and helped create another unforgettable SCCDS Annual Picnic. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
