SUMMARY:General Membership Meeting: My Digital Journey
DESCRIPTION:Dental technology investments—from intraoral scanners and mills to 3D printers and CBCT—can transform patient care\, team efficiency\, and practice profitability. Yet many practices underutilize these tools\, missing opportunities to streamline workflows\, delegate effectively\, and deliver comprehensive care. This session teaches dental professionals how to maximize their technology ROI by fully leveraging existing tools\, implementing consistent workflows\, and empowering team members to take ownership. Learn practical strategies to expand the use of your devices beyond the basics\, boost patient outcomes\, enhance team morale\, and drive measurable growth for your practice. \nBiography: \nDr. Apekian graduated from University of California\, Davis with a degree in Neurobiology\, Physiology\, and Behavior. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of California\, San Francisco in 2007\, where she graduated top of her class. She is active in the Sacramento District Dental Society\, serving as previous Legislative Committee Chair\, as well as serving on the Continuing Education\, Ethics\, and Leadership Committees. She has also represented Sacramento at the CDA House of Delegates. Dr. Apekian is an active member of the California Dental Association\, American Dental Association\, and UCSF Alumni Association. SUMMARY:General Membership Meeting: Full Coronal Monobloc Composites Made Easy
DESCRIPTION:After attending the course\, the dentist will be able to deliver full coronal restorations efficiently by utilizing new materials and accoutrements. This will enable the practice to serve the older generation that no longer have insurance and are on fixed incomes. \nInjectable bulk fill composites\, revolutionary matrices\, rapid sculpting/polishing composite burs (RAPTOR successor)\, and all-media polish compound. \nYou will learn: \n\nTo judge whether sufficient tooth structure remains to facilitate this technique\nProper prep design\nInjectable composite needle diameter to meet the need\nProper technique for needle bending to accommodate difficult access for filling\nPlacement of the Quick Connect band and carrier removal\nTacking of the adjacent tooth matrix tabs to assure great contacts\nFilling patterns to assure no “knit lines” or voids\nAuto-cure set time and its importance with dual-cured bulk fills\nSystematic hardened composite sculpting of planes\, ridges\, and cusps for basic anatomy\nFinish planar anatomy and pre-polish with burs\nFinal single media polish with contra angle bristle brush (think rogue technique for gold)\, simply run bristles into pellet until coated with NANO DIAMOND\nFinal polish with cotton buff\nAfter developed proficiency technique should take 20 minutes (anesthetic not included).\n\n  \n \nBiography: \nDr. Patrick Roetzer is a 1974 graduate of Marquette University. Dr. Roetzer is an associate professor\, operative course content director\, as well as co-director of the International Dental student program at the University of the Pacific/Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Dr. Roetzer holds multiple patents on restorative dental devices and materials. After building a prosthodontics group practice\, he served four years as director of professional relations at Danville Materials while teaching one day per week at Pacific Dugoni. He accepted a full-time academic position at Pacific Dugoni in 2012 as director of Operatory Dentistry where he has introduced several novel techniques and materials that increase the efficiency and quality of restorative dentistry.

SUMMARY:General Membership Meeting: Early Management Solutions for Challenging Dental Anomalies - Short Root\, Transposition\, and Multiple Missing Teeth
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThis presentation provides dental professionals with essential knowledge and skills for early identification and effective management of patients presenting with various dental anomalies\, including multiple missing teeth\, transposition\, and short root anomalies. Topics include the epidemiology of these conditions\, precise definitions\, and their classification. The discussion extends to early orthodontic interventions\, strategic space management\, and a comprehensive exploration of a multidisciplinary approach. Treatment plan alternatives are considered\, with insights from both successful and challenging case series outcomes. Emphasis is placed on understanding the complexities of these dental conditions and developing effective treatment strategies that optimize oral health\, function\, and esthetics. \n1. Utilize clinical and radiographic assessments for accurate diagnosis and evaluation of the extent of multiple missing teeth\, transposition\, and short root anomaly. \n2. Understand the importance of early detection and the impact of multiple congenitally missing teeth and short root anomalies on occlusion and facial growth in growing patients. \n3. Develop effective\, multidisciplinary treatment plans aligned with individual patient needs and expectations. \nBiography: \nDr. Heesoo Oh currently holds the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific\, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco\, CA. She received her DDS\, MS in Pedodontics\, and her PhD from Chonnam National University in Kwangju\, Korea. She later earned her MSD in Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific. Her research focuses primarily on clinical outcome studies that investigate the effects of various therapeutic interventions on the craniofacial region by comparing them to untreated subjects from longitudinal growth studies. She has earned multiple awards and grants from the AAOF\, AAO\, and NIH. \n \n
