Ethical considerations and data security are highlighted\, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding patient privacy. Real-world case studies illustrate the practical benefits and challenges of using AI to enhance diagnostic accuracy\, optimize treatment outcomes\, and improve patient satisfaction. The lecture aims to demystify AI for dental clinicians\, encouraging the adoption of these innovative technologies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. \nBiography: \nBalazs Feher is a member of the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard University. He further holds an appointment as a Senior Lecturer in Oral Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna. His research focuses on applied data science and artificial intelligence for diagnostic\, prognostic\, and generative modeling in dental medicine. He teaches oral surgery at the predoctoral and graduate levels. Feher is a Contributor to the ITU/WHO/WIPO Global Initiative on Artificial Intelligence for Health\, and a Member of the European Association for Osseointegration’s Junior Committee. He holds a D.M.D. and a Ph.D. from the Medical University of Vienna\, where he also habilitated and earned the venia docendi in dental medicine. He completed postdoctoral training at the Giannobile and Feres Labs at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

Treatment plan alternatives are considered\, with insights from both successful and challenging case series outcomes. Emphasis is placed on understanding the complexities of these dental conditions and developing effective treatment strategies that optimize oral health\, function\, and esthetics. \n1. Utilize clinical and radiographic assessments for accurate diagnosis and evaluation of the extent of multiple missing teeth\, transposition\, and short root anomaly. \n2. Understand the importance of early detection and the impact of multiple congenitally missing teeth and short root anomalies on occlusion and facial growth in growing patients. \n3. Develop effective\, multidisciplinary treatment plans aligned with individual patient needs and expectations. \nBiography: \nDr. Heesoo Oh currently holds the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific\, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco\, CA. She received her DDS\, MS in Pedodontics\, and her PhD from Chonnam National University in Kwangju\, Korea. She later earned her MSD in Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific. Her research focuses primarily on clinical outcome studies that investigate the effects of various therapeutic interventions on the craniofacial region by comparing them to untreated subjects from longitudinal growth studies. We will review digital workflows aiding in 3D printed provisional restorations from single units through hybrids. \nObjectives:\n– Understand implementation of IO and CBCT scanning techniques for guided surgery to avoid planning complications\n– Understand implementation of 3D printing for single units through hybrid restorations\n– Understand the software and hardware requirements of digital workflows \nEarn: 1.5 CE Units \nBiography: \nDr. Eshraghi received his Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University in 2002\, and both his DMD and Specialty Certificate in Periodontics from Oregon Health and Science University in 2006 and 2009 respectively. Dr. Eshraghi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology\, the highest level of achievement in the field. \nHe maintains private practices in Beaverton and Tualatin\, OR and remains affiliated with OHSU as an assistant clinical professor and actively teaches advanced surgical skills including implant placement. He is passionate about teaching and is pioneering the use of advanced computer aided technologies such as CT scans\, CAD/CAM guided surgery\, 3D printing and dynamic navigation into the practice of periodontics.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the number of annual workplace homicides at about 400. California now requires employers to have an “effective” program to prevent workplace violence in place by July 1\, 2024; to include “Active Shooter Training” and to renew this training annually for all staff. \nJoin SCCDS and speaker Dr. Kriss Ghafourpour\, who will share his expertise on this topic reviewing the most common nationally recognized calls for action in such situations. Dr. Ghafourpour comes to us with over 30 years of experience in the Emergency Medical Services\, currently Training Sergeant for Virginia Beach EMS\, member of the FBI InfraGard civilian task force\, and a certified firearms instructor for the DOJ. This course will focus on your safety and how to be prepared and gain the skills needed to prevent\, recognize\, and increase your ability to survive during an active shooter incident. Sampada lectures nationally on treating patients with SHCN’s in a private practice setting and using portable dentistry. Her writing on this topic and others has been featured in the American Dental Association\, Academy of General Dentistry and Dental Economics. She manages a family-first practice in San Carlos\, CA\, where she also offer sedation services to those that require it. She lives with her husband and children in the East Bay.
