SUMMARY:General Membership Meeting: CAMBRA and Minimally Invasive Restorative Care - 5/13/27
DESCRIPTION:Patients with Special Health Care Needs (medically and developmentally) are often at greater dental caries risk and periodontal risk. CAMBRA (Caries Management By Risk Assessment) can help identify and make appropriate recommendations to reducing risks. Our goal as oral health care professionals are to both repair teeth but help patients become healthier. Learn how to utilize CAMBRA and the new science of minimally invasive care to help treat patients efficiently. \nUnderstanding the “why” and “when” for minimally invasive dentistry can help give your patients more options to become healthier with less fears. \nIn this course\, we will discuss chemotherapeutics to treatment of high caries risk patients as well as lower their risks. \nObjectives: \n\nReview the Caries Management By Risk Assessment (CAMBRA) principles and efficiently\nReview the treatment recommendations to lower caries risk and choices for minimally invasive dentistry\nReview some of the chemotherapeutic choices for high risk patients and discuss myths of choices of SDF and Glass Ionomers\nModifications for using minimally invasive strategies for those with special health care needs (Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities)\n\n  \nBiography: \nScreenshot \nDr. Allen Wong has taught postdoctoral general dentistry for over 38 years in AEGD programs (Pacific and University California San Francisco) and was the director of Pacific’s Hospital Dentistry Program.
