SUMMARY:General Membership Meeting: Early Management Solutions for Challenging Dental Anomalies - Short Root\, Transposition\, and Multiple Missing Teeth
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n  \nThis presentation provides dental professionals with essential knowledge and skills for early identification and effective management of patients presenting with various dental anomalies\, including multiple missing teeth\, transposition\, and short root anomalies. Topics include the epidemiology of these conditions\, precise definitions\, and their classification. The discussion extends to early orthodontic interventions\, strategic space management\, and a comprehensive exploration of a multidisciplinary approach. Treatment plan alternatives are considered\, with insights from both successful and challenging case series outcomes. Emphasis is placed on understanding the complexities of these dental conditions and developing effective treatment strategies that optimize oral health\, function\, and esthetics. \n1. Utilize clinical and radiographic assessments for accurate diagnosis and evaluation of the extent of multiple missing teeth\, transposition\, and short root anomaly. \n2. Understand the importance of early detection and the impact of multiple congenitally missing teeth and short root anomalies on occlusion and facial growth in growing patients. \n3. Develop effective\, multidisciplinary treatment plans aligned with individual patient needs and expectations. \nBiography: \nDr. Heesoo Oh currently holds the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific\, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco\, CA. She received her DDS\, MS in Pedodontics\, and her PhD from Chonnam National University in Kwangju\, Korea. She later earned her MSD in Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific. Her research focuses primarily on clinical outcome studies that investigate the effects of various therapeutic interventions on the craniofacial region by comparing them to untreated subjects from longitudinal growth studies. She has earned multiple awards and grants from the AAOF\, AAO\, and NIH. \n \n
