SUMMARY:Chairside 3D-Printed Appliances: From Scan to Delivery - Presented by Zylo 3D
DESCRIPTION:Chairside 3D-Printed Appliances: From Scan to Delivery\nA Two-Part Lecture and Hands-On Course \nThursday\, November 19 and Thursday\, December 10 \n6:30pm – 8:30pm \nIn Person at SCCDS \nFREE for SCCDS Members and Guests \n2 CE Units per Session \n  \nPart 1: Lecture \nThursday\, November 19\, 2026 | 6:30–8:30 PM \nPresented by Dr. Mina Levi \n  \nPart 2: Hands-On Workshop \nThursday\, December 10\, 2026 | 6:30–8:30 PM \nPresented by Dr. Andrew Dela Rama \n  \nCourse Description \nThis two-part course teaches a practical chairside workflow for producing retainers\, splints\, sports guards\, and bleaching trays—from intraoral scanning and digital design to printing\, finishing\, and delivery. \nParticipants will learn how Zylo3D’s compact\, all-in-one system automates printing\, washing\, and curing to reduce manual work\, staff time\, and equipment footprint. \nBringing these appliances in-house can enable same-day delivery\, improve control over quality and fit\, and potentially save practices $30\,000 or more annually\, depending on case volume. \n  \nLearning Objectives \nBy the end of this course\, participants should be able to:\nIdentify appropriate clinical applications for 3D-printed retainers\, splints\, sports guards\, and bleaching trays.\nCapture accurate intraoral scans and bite records for each appliance.\nExplain key CAD design considerations\, including fit\, retention\, thickness\, relief\, and occlusion.\nPrepare digital files for printing\, including resin selection\, orientation\, and support generation.\nDescribe the complete printing\, washing\, curing\, support-removal\, and finishing process.\nExplain how an automated\, all-in-one workflow can reduce manual handling\, staff time\, equipment requirements\, and the learning curve.\nEvaluate appliance fit\, comfort\, retention\, and occlusion before delivery.\nCompare in-house production with traditional laboratory workflows based on cost\, turnaround time\, and quality control.\nDevelop a practical plan for introducing chairside 3D printing and expanding into additional clinical applications. \nPresented by: \n \nFeatured Speakers: \nDr. Mina Levi\, DDS\, MAGD\, MAACA \nDr. Mina Levi is the founder\, CEO\, and clinical director of California Dental Innovations in San Francisco. She completed her dental education at Sofia Medical University\, postgraduate orthodontic studies at Plovdiv Medical University\, and additional dental studies at UCLA. She is a past president of the Northern California Academy of General Dentistry and holds advanced credentials in general dentistry\, clear aligners\, implantology\, and digital dentistry. Her technology-driven practice emphasizes minimally invasive\, biomimetic\, and digitally integrated patient care. \nDr. Andrew A. Dela Rama\, DDS \nDr. Andrew Dela Rama is a general dentist and owner of Dela Rama Dental Care in the Bay Area. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco\, completed postgraduate studies at UCSF\, and received his DDS from Creighton University. His advanced training includes TMD/TMJ treatment\, neuromuscular dentistry\, orthodontics\, clear-aligner therapy\, and minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry using the Bioclear Method. His clinical approach integrates dental function\, joint position\, muscle biomechanics\, and modern digital workflows.
