This will enable the practice to serve the older generation that no longer have insurance and are on fixed incomes. \nInjectable bulk fill composites\, revolutionary matrices\, rapid sculpting/polishing composite burs (RAPTOR successor)\, and all-media polish compound. \nYou will learn: \n\nTo judge whether sufficient tooth structure remains to facilitate this technique\nProper prep design\nInjectable composite needle diameter to meet the need\nProper technique for needle bending to accommodate difficult access for filling\nPlacement of the Quick Connect band and carrier removal\nTacking of the adjacent tooth matrix tabs to assure great contacts\nFilling patterns to assure no “knit lines” or voids\nAuto-cure set time and its importance with dual-cured bulk fills\nSystematic hardened composite sculpting of planes\, ridges\, and cusps for basic anatomy\nFinish planar anatomy and pre-polish with burs\nFinal single media polish with contra angle bristle brush (think rogue technique for gold)\, simply run bristles into pellet until coated with NANO DIAMOND\nFinal polish with cotton buff\nAfter developed proficiency technique should take 20 minutes (anesthetic not included).\n\n  \n \nBiography: \nDr. Patrick Roetzer is a 1974 graduate of Marquette University. Dr. Roetzer is an associate professor\, operative course content director\, as well as co-director of the International Dental student program at the University of the Pacific/Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry. Dr. Roetzer holds multiple patents on restorative dental devices and materials. After building a prosthodontics group practice\, he served four years as director of professional relations at Danville Materials while teaching one day per week at Pacific Dugoni. He accepted a full-time academic position at Pacific Dugoni in 2012 as director of Operatory Dentistry where he has introduced several novel techniques and materials that increase the efficiency and quality of restorative dentistry.

SUMMARY:Mandatory Annual Workplace Violence Prevention Training
DESCRIPTION:NEW BENEFIT! FREE FOR MEMBER DENTISTS! \nEach year\, an average of nearly 2 million American workers report having been a victim of violence at work\, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the number of annual workplace homicides at about 400. California now requires employers to have an “effective” program to prevent workplace violence in place by July 1\, 2024; to include “Active Shooter Training” and to renew this training annually for all staff. \nJoin SCCDS and speaker Dr. Kriss Ghafourpour\, who will share his expertise on this topic reviewing the most common nationally recognized calls for action in such situations. Dr. Ghafourpour comes to us with over 30 years of experience in the Emergency Medical Services\, currently Training Sergeant for Virginia Beach EMS\, member of the FBI InfraGard civilian task force\, and a certified firearms instructor for the DOJ. This course will focus on your safety and how to be prepared and gain the skills needed to prevent\, recognize\, and increase your ability to survive during an active shooter incident. This course will provide details on what behaviors to look for and who to contact to prevent an active shooter incident. You will learn how to make educated life-saving decisions regarding which actions to take during an active shooter incident. Utilize clinical and radiographic assessments for accurate diagnosis and evaluation of the extent of multiple missing teeth\, transposition\, and short root anomaly. \n2. Understand the importance of early detection and the impact of multiple congenitally missing teeth and short root anomalies on occlusion and facial growth in growing patients. \n3. Develop effective\, multidisciplinary treatment plans aligned with individual patient needs and expectations. \nBiography: \nDr. Heesoo Oh currently holds the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific\, Arthur A. She later earned her MSD in Orthodontics at the University of the Pacific. Real-world case studies illustrate the practical benefits and challenges of using AI to enhance diagnostic accuracy\, optimize treatment outcomes\, and improve patient satisfaction. The lecture aims to demystify AI for dental clinicians\, encouraging the adoption of these innovative technologies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. \nBiography: \nBalazs Feher is a member of the Faculty of Medicine at Harvard University. He further holds an appointment as a Senior Lecturer in Oral Surgery at the Medical University of Vienna. His research focuses on applied data science and artificial intelligence for diagnostic\, prognostic\, and generative modeling in dental medicine. He teaches oral surgery at the predoctoral and graduate levels. Feher is a Contributor to the ITU/WHO/WIPO Global Initiative on Artificial Intelligence for Health\, and a Member of the European Association for Osseointegration’s Junior Committee. He holds a D.M.D. and a Ph.D. from the Medical University of Vienna\, where he also habilitated and earned the venia docendi in dental medicine. He completed postdoctoral training at the Giannobile and Feres Labs at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

SUMMARY:Mandatory Annual Workplace Violence Prevention Training
DESCRIPTION:NEW BENEFIT! FREE FOR MEMBER DENTISTS! \nEach year\, an average of nearly 2 million American workers report having been a victim of violence at work\, according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics puts the number of annual workplace homicides at about 400. California now requires employers to have an “effective” program to prevent workplace violence in place by July 1\, 2024; to include “Active Shooter Training” and to renew this training annually for all staff. \nJoin SCCDS and speaker Dr. Kriss Ghafourpour\, who will share his expertise on this topic reviewing the most common nationally recognized calls for action in such situations. Dr. Ghafourpour comes to us with over 30 years of experience in the Emergency Medical Services\, currently Training Sergeant for Virginia Beach EMS\, member of the FBI InfraGard civilian task force\, and a certified firearms instructor for the DOJ. This course will focus on your safety and how to be prepared and gain the skills needed to prevent\, recognize\, and increase your ability to survive during an active shooter incident. This course will provide details on what behaviors to look for and who to contact to prevent an active shooter incident. You will learn how to make educated life-saving decisions regarding which actions to take during an active shooter incident. You will also receive documents for setting up a response plan for your employee handbook\, conducting drills\, and appropriate first aid equipment to add to your office. \nThis course will cover: \nCurrent Statistics and CA Senate Bill 533\nCommon active shooter behavior\nWhen to report suspicious behavior\nActive shooter trends\nRecognize a threat and transition quickly to take action\nDetermine how to prepare yourself to escape\, hide\, and fight during an active shooter incident\nWhat to do when law enforcement arrives\nThis course will be held online via Zoom. His research focuses on innovative applications of data science\, artificial intelligence tools\, and advanced 3D imaging assessments. He collaborates with prestigious institutions such as the University of Michigan and the University of North Carolina on NIH-funded projects. In his clinical teaching\, Dr. Bianchi employs evidence-based approaches and a wide range of treatment techniques\, including segmented mechanics\, aligner therapy\, straight-wire methods\, TADs\, 3D printed appliances\, and orthopedic appliances. \n
