Can I Resume Normal Operation?

Current recommendation: NO

We receive questions every day regarding member practice interruption. Rest assured, as soon as the shelter-in-place order has been lifted, we will communicate that information with our members as quickly as possible. In the interim, please bookmark this page.

When will the shelter-in-place order be lifted?

On March 19, the state of California expanded the existing shelter-in-place order with an indefinite time frame. We strongly urge dentists to postpone non-emergency care until the order has been lifted. We do not recommend rescheduling appointments at this time due to the indefinite nature of the shelter-in-place order. Before treating any patient, consider the risk of contagion to yourself, your employees and other patients. Also, be aware that there is a current shortage of personal protective equipment available in the hospital setting. Every unit consumed is one less available for treatment and containment by health care workers on the frontlines of this pandemic. The Dental Board of California advises dentists to refer to guidance from the California Department of Public Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization.
